Step 1: Unbox and Verify

Ensure the packaging is sealed and untampered. Inside, you should find:

• Ledger hardware wallet (Nano S Plus, Nano X, or Stax)
• USB-C cable for connection
• Recovery phrase sheet (never digital!)
• Quick-start documentation

Important: If your device comes with a pre-written recovery phrase, do not use it. This indicates a security breach. Contact Ledger Support immediately.

Step 2: Visit Ledger.com/start

Go to Ledger.com/start using your web browser. This official setup page provides all necessary resources to begin using your wallet securely.

Step 3: Download and Install Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the companion application for your Ledger hardware wallet. Download it for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or iOS), then install and launch the app to begin the setup process.

Step 4: Initialize Your Ledger Device

Connect your Ledger wallet. Select "Set up as a new device," create a PIN, and securely write down your 24-word recovery phrase. Never share it or store it digitally.

Step 5: Add Accounts

Use Ledger Live to install apps and add cryptocurrency accounts. Manage multiple assets with full control.

Step 6: Update Regularly

Keep Ledger Live and your device firmware updated to stay protected and access new crypto support.
